Hi! My name is Ashley Paik. I’m a student at Cornell University majoring in Information Science with concentrations in UX Design & Data Science.

When I first arrived at Cornell, I was a Communication major driven by curiosity about the intersection of communication and technology—how humans interact with technology to share and convey ideas.

My journey into design began during the second semester of my freshman year. I’ve always been passionate about aesthetics, from capturing beautiful landscapes with my digital camera and curating mood boards on Pinterest to designing graphics for school clubs.

This lifelong interest in creating visually engaging work led me to discover UX design, which felt like the perfect intersection between my love for working with people (users), understanding their interactions with technology, and designing meaningful experiences for those interactions.

Over time, I realized my true passion lies at the crossroads of design and communication—exploring how visual elements and interfaces can convey meaning, enhance understanding, and transform information.

Today, I’m a product designer for Digital Tech & Innovation, one of Cornell’s largest project teams, and for Piclo, a startup travel app, where I contribute to shaping its design and user experience.
