I'M Ashley Paik, A THIRD-YEAR STUDENT STUDYING UX DESIGN AND DATA SCIENCE AT CORNELL UNIVERSITY.
Design has always been a part of my life (despite me not knowing). From sketching fashion designs when I was seven to playing violin for eight years, I've always looked for creative outlets to express myself. My first real experience with designing with tools came from making scrappy edits on apps like PicsArt and Canva, and that's when design slowly started becoming a constant part of how I create and explore ideas.
When I came to Cornell, I majored in Communication because I was curious about how people share meaning and how technology shapes it. After taking an Intro to Digital Product Design class and spending late nights learning the design process to complete my first case study, I realized I wanted to design the technology people interact with rather than study it from a distance.
Since then, I've taken products from 0 to 1, designed for real users through Cornell’s Digital Tech & Innovation, and collaborated with startups to bring early ideas to life. I'm especially interested in the intersection of UX and data science, where research and data-driven insights guide thoughtful design decisions.

At Cornell, I cultivate design communities :)
